A GENERATION INSPIRED SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Program Overview:
The Fostering A Generation Inspired Scholarship Program is an initiative of Fostering A Generation, designed to help children in foster care and those aging out of the system reach their full potential — beginning in Alabama and expanding beyond. This scholarship honors the resilience and promise of a generation rising in the face of adversity.

Through academic financial support, mentorship, and community encouragement, the program empowers students to pursue higher education, vocational training, or career advancement opportunities.

Eligibility:
Applicants must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Currently or formerly in foster care

  • At risk of foster care placement

  • Aging out of the foster care system

  • Living in Madison County, Alabama

​

Program Goals:

  • Provide financial support to cover tuition, books, and related educational expenses

  • Encourage leadership, service, and personal growth

  • Connect scholars with mentors and local support networks

  • Inspire recipients to give back to their communities

​

Award Amounts:
Scholarship awards vary based on available funding and applicant needs. Awards may be renewable based on academic progress and continued engagement.

Application Requirements:

  • Completed application form

  • Personal statement (500 words):

  • Proof of enrollment or intent to enroll in a qualifying program

  • One letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or community leader

​
